Laurie's Bathroom

This bathroom was designed by a remarkable friend, homeowner, designer and owner of Frank Pictures Gallery in Santa Monica, CA, Laurie Frank. We did this job together back in 1997. Laurie had saved and planned for this morrocan themed remodel for years. She was specific about every detail, including the 100 yr old copper and mahogany bathtub and the 1800 wood church altar piece reborn as a medicine cabinet. The shower is tiled floor to ceiling with the same warm lemon brick style tiles and matching border accents. Just off the bathroom is a large covered sleeping terrace which I installed with mint green and white patterned tiles carefully chosen to gracefully segue from the mint green flooring in the bathroom. The tiles featured here were imported from France, their designs and color by French artist Denis Colomb.
Each lemon yellow brick style tile along the top border design was manually cut to fit the custom shaped decor tiles. Bullnose/liners accented many elements - the mirror on the right, the shower frame, beneath the border along the perimeter of the room, the base border of the shower. All tiles were specially ordered from Mortarless Tile in Los Angeles.
